A janitor and an engineer fall in love in a factory. One is Polish, the other Italian. A comical and heartwarming story set in a time of war these lovebirds attempt to escape persecution in the most absurd way imaginable.
This play is inspired by a performance from the 1940's by Polish artist Wladyslaw Dutkiewicz. He created dozens of plays for the underground Polish resistance. They were shared to keep their spirits strong, and their stories remembered. While the script has been long lost, one photo remains from this underground (and illegal) theatre show, Repatriation to the Moon. It is this image that has inspired this newly reimagined story.
This is not a children’s play, but you are welcome to bring children of ALL ages (including infants). Children 12 and under are free to attend.
